I’ve been pranking a friend of mine lately, leaving animals in her house. She finally got me back today. I found this adorable tropical coconut drink in my inventory first. We occasionally send each other small gifts, so I really didn’t anything was going on. Until I found a cozy chair out back, overlooking the water. I sat down for a minute to enjoy the view when… (see the last photo).

Yes, she hid a SHARK in the water poised to jump out at me! I forced it up in the air to take this photo. It was actually hidden pretty well just under the surface of the water. She was pretty sneaky! Do you have a friend that you play tricks on in SecondLife?

Taking a walk on the wild side for Dazzle Event – March 2019

Catty will be available late Friday night, March 1st, 2019 exclusively at Dazzle until April.

I keep swearing not to do events anymore but, somehow, keep entering the Dazzle Event anyway. The owner/organizer, Palomma, is also the founder of Free Dove and her team builds remarkably creative themed displays for her events. This month’s theme is “Take a Walk on the Wild Side”. Naturally, I went with animal print. It’s likely that every other designer did the same. There is something about wearing animal that makes us feel powerful and bold – and it’s in fashion this season.

This mesh dress fits several of the most popular mesh bodies sold in Second Life. I was not able to get this one in a fit for JOMO, but will keep searching for mesh that work for those bodies, too.

No felines were harmed in the making of this dress and I will assert right now that wearing animal print does not have to be an act of advocating animal cruelty. It can be an act of honoring animals by donning patterns that are inspired by their beauty.

Now go sharpen your claws and be catty!

Halloween 2018

I entered several sales events for Halloween this year. The red and black gown below is for the “Salem” event at Garden of Shadows. If you’re reading this on Halloween, you still have a few hours to go get it! It comes with a necklace and the glowing red particle effects that can be added.

This purple gown with black lace trim is for the free (yes I said FREE!) Blacklace hunt. If you are reading this on Halloween, hurry and go pumpkin hunting because that place is loaded with some amazing prizes! This one is split into three parts. Did you know that you can take yoga classes in Second Life? Yasmin tells me they have class at 2:00 p.m. SLT on Wednesday. What a great way to get us up out of our chairs at home while still feeling immersed in the virtual environment of SL!

I broke from the norm a bit this time and added some inspiring messages to this fit-mesh top. The HUD has six color/word choices on it including “Pray”, “Breathe” and more. So you can remember when you forget, and you can remind others so they don’t forget. How kind of you!

The mesh is made in standard sizes for classic avatars and fitted mesh for the following mesh avatars: Ebody, Ocacin, Maitreya, Belleza, TMP and Slink.

Snowstars!

This gown was created for the Enchanted Yule event at Garden of Shadows. A magical flurry of snowflakes will grace your shoulders as you walk through winter wonderland…

…because I pulled a Second Life fashion faux pas and made a sleeveless gown for winter! What was I thinking???

Since we can’t really freeze in a virtual winter, I decided to take a walk through the picturesque snow drifts @ The Forest and take a few photos catching “snowstars”! Hope you enjoy it.

Have you ever torn up a t-shirt to make a halter or tank top?

Have you ever torn up a t-shirt to make a halter or tank top? I’ve seen several of these on Pinterest and have meant to try my hand at making one. When I stumbled upon this mesh model, I just new that it HAD to be a tie-dyed t-shirt, torn and tied in the back with denim jeans. It would look so cute with cut-off shorts, so that may be my next project.

This is a Womenstuff Hunt prize, so I didn’t spend a lot of time with details. I may do another one with edge seams and more shadows to give it dimension. The hunt runs from April 1st (no joke) to the 30th. That sounds like a lot of time but there are well over a hundred stores, so you can hunt a handful of stores each day and never run out!

I purchased this mesh model with other plans in mind for it, but sometimes you open a box of textures and discover that it’s a match made in heaven. I love these brightly colored stripes and the linen-like texture of the fabric. A picnic table would have been a better background, but the horse was so pretty, I couldn’t resist capturing him in the background.

Embellished denim for that laaaaast stretch of summer. Lace sewn onto the pockets makes these shorts a bit frilly with vintage appeal.

SIXTEEN sizes are included in the box. Yes! Sixteen!!! If you can’t get one of those to fit, I can’t help you. You’ve got the usual five standard sizes, plus fit-mesh compatible with Belleza, Maitreya, TMP, Eve, Slink and Tonic. Wahoo!

“Daisies” fit-mesh top

…the front panels reminded me of flower petals…

TinRoof Daisies Ad Small “Daisies” was inspired purely by the mesh model used to make this top. The shape of the front panels reminded me of flower petals and it just screamed “TinRoof” to me… so I bought it. The fabric is a breezy linen in six colors, though the black and white are actually my favorites. They go with anything!

In addition to the fabric texture, the buttons and the trim have also been customized.

Halloween Scarecrow Costume

Snapshot_014 — A not-so-scary scarecrow for Halloween this year.

A close friend of mine suggested this costume and it was really a great fit for Tin. She could stand out in a corn field in a T pose all day, but not a crow would be frightened because this scarecrow is just so cute. The outfit comes with the straw hat, scarecrow make-up and sunflower.
